Elder McLean leads Kingdom Community Consultants and KingdomCares Foundation, carrying a single conviction into every room: the people who live where the work happens should be the people who get the work.

“Our vision is to give vision.”

Kingdom Community Consultants began in a Westchester neighborhood where residents watched large-scale development happen around them — and rarely with them. New buildings rose, contracts were signed, and the promise of “local jobs” too often meant a job posting no one on the block ever saw.

The team behind KCC started showing up: at planning meetings, at zoning hearings, at kitchen tables. They asked a simple question — who gets to work on the project happening in their own community? — and refused to accept the usual answer.

Out of those conversations came a practical model: work directly with developers and municipalities to design local-hiring commitments that actually reach residents, and stand up the training programs that make those commitments possible on day one. That's the work of Kingdom Community Consultants.

Why we added a foundation

The consulting model works — but only for people the market pays to reach. A young adult without transportation to a jobsite, a caregiver who can't cover tools and boots up front, an entire block priced out of continuing education: those needs sit outside a client engagement.

KingdomCares Foundation was founded to close that gap. As a separately governed nonprofit affiliate, KCF raises funds specifically for the training, tools, transportation, and scholarships that let more residents step into the same programs — regardless of what any single developer or city is willing to fund.

Two organizations, one mission, one bar: vision, provision, opportunity — applied.
